In Scanno the tradition is deeply felt. In Christmas and Easter time and in the holidays like the beautiful tradition called “Ju Catenacce” on the 14th of August where the
local people represents the very particular scannese wedding, the women wear their beautiful costume, whose skirt weighs about 15 kilos. These ladies sit outside their houses and
make lace with the typical lace-pillow.
In the local Museum, called “Museo della Lana”, it is shown the everyday life of a shepherd. There have been collected the tools used up to the beginning of the twentieth century.
Scanno has also a famous tradition in silver manufacture and gold filigree. This old tradition is still in use and can be admired in the typical jeweller’s shops.
