Scanno is located in the heart of the National Park of Abruzzi, at 1,050 m. a.s.l. Scanno is a very typical village and with its mediaeval centre represents a unique architecture.
Scanno is well known for the typical feminine costume that can be still admired in festive days. In its Museum there are a lot of tools, used for agriculture and for wool manufacture.
It is worthwhile to pay a visit to the churches: Santa Maria della Valle, San Giovanni Battista and Sant’Eustachio and to the Palaces, as Palazzo di Rienzo and Palazzo
Serafini.
At 3 km. far from the village there is the Lake of Scanno overlooked by Mount Genzana (2,170 m.)
